In 1973, George and I were both new teachers at the new school that would become the highly regarded Blind Brook. I was one of a bunch of young turks who probably thought we were a bit cooler than we actually were. George, older, more experienced, carved his own niche with grace, style, passion, talent, a love of the kids, and a biting wit focused on anyone who was foolish enough to cross him. Much of what Blind Brook became is because of the force of George's personality. George, yours was a life well-lived. Michael, my condolences. You two were role models before the term was invented.
