Roger van Loveren
I was only less than two years at Blind Brook (fall 79'-81) and only somewhat remember Mr. Trautwein. But reading all these amazing
posts coupled with experiences over the last week I can't help but write:
BB has been amazing to me, of all the possible places to come to, moving from Holland, this unique, small, free place with the most amazing teachers. I soon meet my soul mate for life Karen Lau. And so last Friday (the 18th) we meet with my son's guidance counselor at Fox Lane, we briefly chat with Del Shortliffe (as you can imagine Del has been wonderful for Fox Lane and been very helpful to my son), last weekend at school "the Boyfriend" played, my son ran the spotlight and my daughter was in the ensemble. When we went to see the play with my in laws, and my mother in law mentions that Steven Lau had been in the play at BB. On Monday I see Santo's posting of Matt Miller's article..........
I agree with all the positive comments about BB and it's unique band of teachers, the importance of the arts in schools. I see how much my kids are gaining from orchestra, theater and dedicated, passionate teachers.
I will always think back fondly of my short time at Blind Brook.
