Mr. Trautwein meant the world to me. From the trips to North Carolina I decided to go to school there. I married someone from Goldsboro, whose parents were at Goldsboro High School when he was teaching. The connection in my life to Mr. Trautwein has never left as I even got certified to teach music. His words and awesome character shaped my early years and music is a huge part of my life due to him. Over the years, in North Carolina where I lived for 25 years, I met people who knew him. I would ask even strangers from Goldsboro if they knew him. I was always amazed at how far his reach went. In 2006 I spoke at Wayne Community College at a Tribute for him. I met his students who he had taught at Goldsboro High School and always remembered how he said we were "Garden Variety" Ha Ha. Never did I meet any musician like him and I'm sure I never will. For you Trauty, we go on!!!!
