Wow. This is pretty wild. I've never been part of a Facebook group to remember someone. It's beautiful. It is really weird, because I was just thinking of trying to get in touch with Trautie again because the musical my brother Dan and I wrote is finally being performed after 15 years. Trautie gave me and Dan starring roles in "Where's Charlie," together and that certainly influenced us to later write the musical. The musical which is so much a part of our lives, and will be even more soon, is a direct result of our times with George. He was such a rare and inspiring full-of-life character and truly educated so many. I think the only time I ever saw anyone throw a chair across an auditorium was in choir. What a freak. A beautiful freak. He chased me, and fast, all around the smoking section to grab a cigarette out of my hand. He cared and he was really just a great guy. We were all lucky to have him in our young lives. Music is a wonderful thing and the people who live in it are lucky. And crazy.
Peace
Jacob

Hello to everyone in Trauty Land. This group has been amazing and we are all obviously lucky to have been touched by such a wacky and wonderful music man. My brother Dan and I wrote a musical 16 years ago called The Big Bank. If it weren't for Trauty, and our experience of being cast in starring roles of Where's Charley together, and all of our other musical experiences with the great temper tantrum and chair throwing champion of Blind Brook High School, we wouldn't have written the musical.
Well, 16 years later, The Big Bank is being produced! And you're all, of course, invited! It will be performed In Memory of George Trautwein, in Mystic, CT, from July 21st-31st, by the Emerson Theater Collaborative.
Check out the websites below for more information and I will update this group as the performances come closer. Without George, The Big Bank wouldn't exist- as I'm sure many could say about many things in our lives which were inspired by Trauty.
